Well, work has officially begun on XJW Tales!
This site is designed to be a small, simple repository for the tales of XJW people from across
the globe. We are all connected together by a common thread, that of being Ex Jehovah's Witnesses,
and this site was created in order to bring that thread to life and let the people on this site
shine, to let them be who they really are, not what an Organization says they should be.
Currently, there are two people working on this project, [SYN] and YoursChelbie. If anybody
else wants to get on the bandwagon and help maintain the site, you are of course more than welcome.
However, what we really need right now are your stories. Long or short, thick or thin, they are what will
make this site a valuable stop on the Internet for anyone seeking information about what life is like
when you are a Jehovah's Witness. Please email us your stories as soon as you can! After verifying that
you are indeed who you say you are by emailing you back, we'll post them here, naturally checking for
typos and so forth first.
We're looking forward to seeing some of the high-quality, richly detailed life stories we've seen on
sites like JWD, the Watchtower Observer, Freeminds, and H20 to arrive on this site. Please note that this
site is in no way affiliated with or a part of Silentlambs, and is in fact an entirely separate endeavour.
While we are of course behind Silentlambs in spirit, this site has the slightly different goal of archiving
stories from Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses. If you are a victim of abuse, please go straight to Bill Bowen's
excellent site. For anybody else, this is the site for you!
By the way, this site needs a permanent home! So if anyone out there would be gracious enough to offer us
a few megabytes of hosting space on a server with a reasonable bandwidth cap, it would be greatly appreciated.
I suppose we'll just have to hobble along on this rather dodgy 50Megs.com server until somebody does step in,
so we're holding thumbs! And if you see any off-colour popups, it's not our fault!
